Laser Hair Removal
Electrolysis, or Laser Hair Removal, is the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal. The most effective and least invasive form of permanent hair removal for the entire body. AVI Day Spa provides the latest technology in hair removal, the LightSheer Diode Laser Hair Removal System. When using the patented cryogen spray delivery system, the LightSheer Diode Laser is the quickest and most comfortable laser system on the market today. Truly, the LightSheer Diode Laser is light years ahead of the competition!
How It Works
The process, administered by one of our Certified Clinical Electrologists, destroys the hair root by directing an impulse of energy down to the hair root.
Laser systems use the hair shaft to conduct the precise amount of heat to the follicle and each pulse from the laser disables a large number of hair follicles. As a result laser hair removal is very effective, extremely quick (an upper lip takes less than a minute) and whatever the area, usually takes no more than four sessions.
The combination of a more than sufficient power and a well selected wavelength allows us to treat even the most difficult cases with safety. To further ensure that our patients are protected we routinely carry out a test patch prior to treatment.
Restrictions on Treatment
Laser hair removal treatments should not be performed on patients with the following condition:
Use sunscreen daily; any amount of sun tan will interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment and increase adverse reactions. Do not wax, pluck, or have electrolysis for at least four weeks prior to treatment. Shaving does not effect the treatment result.
Treated areas should be washed twice a day with cool water and a mild soap. Use our Post Laser Treatment Lotion twice daily to treated areas for 3 to 5 days or until healing is complete. Treated areas should be protected from direct exposure to sunlight. Sunscreen with SPF greater than 15 should be used at all times on the treated areas. Hair will begin to fall out of the follicle within the next week. You may rub the treated area with a dry towel to pull the hair out of the follicles. Do not shave. Shaving will prolong hair from falling out. Treatment should be repeated within one to three months, depending on hair cycle.
