How It WorksThe process, administered by one of our Certified Clinical Electrologists, destroys the hair root by directing an impulse of energy down to the hair root. Laser systems use the hair shaft to conduct the precise amount of heat to the follicle and each pulse from the laser disables a large number of hair follicles. As a result laser hair removal is very effective, extremely quick (an upper lip takes less than a minute) and whatever the area, usually takes no more than four sessions. The combination of a more than sufficient power and a well selected wavelength allows us to treat even the most difficult cases with safety. To further ensure that our patients are protected we routinely carry out a test patch prior to treatment.
Restrictions on TreatmentLaser hair removal treatments should not be performed on patients with the following condition:
Before TreatmentUse sunscreen daily; any amount of sun tan will interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment and increase adverse reactions. Do not wax, pluck, or have electrolysis for at least four weeks prior to treatment. Shaving does not effect the treatment result. After TreatmentTreated areas should be washed twice a day with cool water and a mild soap. Use our Post Laser Treatment Lotion twice daily to treated areas for 3 to 5 days or until healing is complete. Treated areas should be protected from direct exposure to sunlight. Sunscreen with SPF greater than 15 should be used at all times on the treated areas. Hair will begin to fall out of the follicle within the next week. You may rub the treated area with a dry towel to pull the hair out of the follicles. Do not shave. Shaving will prolong hair from falling out. Treatment should be repeated within one to three months, depending on hair cycle. Contact us today to schedule a complimentary consultation and free one area treatment at our convenient location.
